3 Fun Ways to Impact Corporate Culture, Virtually

Written by

As a global remote staffing provider for software engineers and statistical programmers, we’ve been working in the virtual space for quite sometime.  In our model, we invest quite a bit into building culture that ultimately impacts attitude, performance and sustainability.  In our normal world, our teams work together in the same location, but virtually from their employers.  From our side, our company creates opportunities for the teams to feel connected to each other and the companies they work for through team building exercises and milestone celebrations.  Now, as we all have moved our offices into our homes temporarily, the same processes we do daily are now being implemented on an micro scale.

Many, if not all, of you have already moved into a virtual working environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Thanks to so many technical innovations over the years, this virtual working environment has the opportunity for many companies to not skip a beat and continue on, just in a different way.   However, one challenging piece in all of this, is to maintain morale and keep the culture connected and moving forward.

With everything going on, it’s more important than ever to stay connected on a human level and to bring some normalcy throughout all of this.

We decided to offer a few creative ways for your teams to stay connected and to use this time to engage and possibly create a bond, that when it’s all over, they come back even stronger.

By leveraging video conferencing software you and your team can do more than just hold meetings, you can also use it to build morale and impact your company’s culture

Host a Fun Facts game

Everyone sends the Team Lead an interesting fact about themselves. The Team Lead creates a document including each fact but omitting the name of the person associated to the fact. Everyone guesses who belongs to which fact. After the game, veryone shares a story behind their fact.

Host a Trivia Night

Does someone on your team have a trivia board? What about a trivia gaming app? Trivia night can be a great way for everyone to play along while seeing each other online. People can play online together or write the answer on a piece of paper and hold it up to the camera.

Host a Happy Hour

Whether it’s coffee, wine or water, getting together to relax, see each other and talk about the day, is a great way for people to feel closer together. Whether you’re talking about the silly things that happened with your kids or even pets, a virtual happy hour is a great way to connect and unwind.
